About The Artist

Ron Lipnicki began drumming at the age of 12 after hearing Led Zeppelin’s classic live album, "The Song Remains the Same." He formed a band with his brothers and began honing his craft. Following high school, Ron studied at Drummers Collective in NYC where under several instructors he explored various styles including Latin Jazz. He then continued studies with legendary drummer Joe Nevolo who taught him the tricks of the trade. Ron's playing had become so advanced that he was entrusted to teach Joe's students while Joe went on tour. In 2002, Ron won the Guitar Center Drum-Off and was invited to join the legendary NJ Thrash Metal band Hades. He recorded their album "DamNation" on Metal Blade Records that same year. Ron went on to secure a deal with Overkill in 2005. He recorded five albums during his time with the band including "Immortalis", "Ironbound", "The Electric Age", "White Devil Armory" and their latest release, "The Grinding Wheel". Ron toured the world with Overkill and has shared the stage with many of his heroes such as Judas Priest, Kiss, Metallica, Slayer, Motorhead and Megadeth. His playing can be heard on numerous television shows including Pawn Stars and Storage Wars. Ron is endorsed by Vic Firth Drumsticks, Axis Bass Drum Pedals and Sabian Cymbals. With his impressive history, superb articulation and hard-hitting talent, Ron makes a perfect and welcome addition to Hair 2 Heavy.
